Our 2012 season will kickoff with our first flight being planned for
D-Day, June 6, 2012
follow on flights are being planned for
July, September and October 2012
Our current waiting list is 175 veterans (as of 04/08/12)
It is not possible to accurately estimate the waiting time, but we are hopeful to fly between 150-200 veterans during the 2012 season which is defined as Spring/Summer and early Fall. See Volunteer Opportunity listed below if you can assist in managing our datbase.
VERY IMPORTANT:
As of our 2012 season, we will change our guardian assignment policy to enhance our overall safety posture.

1st. Medical Professionals
2nd. Guardians who have previously served (experience)
3rd. Trained volunteers
4th. Family/friend of veteran (must attend guardian training)
(No spouses or partners will be considered for Guardian duty)

We need an individual to manage our Veteran and Guardian data base. The data base is currently in Microsoft Excel, and requires an individual willing to manage the input and update of applicants.

OUR MISSION
Honor Flight Bluegrass Chapter, is a Louisville, Kentucky based 501C3 non-profit organization created to honor America's veterans for all their sacrifices.
We fly our heroes to Washington, DC to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans - WW II survivors along with those other veterans that may be terminally ill.
